ICELAND IN SPRING
SPRING (April - May)
Although you may still see some snow on the ground, April and May will bring longer days and higher temperatures, plus a decrease in accommodation prices and less tourists. You're also less likely to see the aurora borealis, but may still get a chance in early April.

Iceland’s lush green landscape will be revealed for the first time in the year. There are numerous opportunities to explore Iceland at this time of the year. The light is perfect for photography, the waterfalls become more intense as the glacial ice melts into the rivers and streams. Puffins return to the coast between mid April and Mid August, and the lambing season in full swing. Spring is a wonderful time to explore icelands ring road – a 1300km loop that takes you through some of Iceland’s most stupendous scenery and gives you a great overview of the island as a whole.
